Facebook looks set to do a U-turn on its privacy policy following condemnation from several sources last week. The social networking site told the BBC that it was “working on responding to [users’] concerns.” Facebook had changed its default privacy settings at the end of last year, a move which allowed third-party websites access to its users’ profile information unless they specifically opted out via a process criticised as ‘too complicated’ by some commentators. The move drew anger from many users, and it seems that Facebook has now wilted under the pressure to make changes to their system.
